Memorial for the fallen...

Next to the southern wall of Zagreb's fortress Medvedgrad there's a memorial for all the fallen during 1991-1995 war... seemingly random stone blocks seem to create Croatia's coat of armor, while the central area is reserved for the eternal flame.

    I like the colors and empty space of the sky which enhances the subject matter.

    Gorgeous photo - that blue sky is stunning. But isn't it sad that human beings have such a hard time getting along...wars and more wars and then we bury the dead and build memorials and go start another war...I don't get it.
