Have you ever noticed how easy it is to recognize foreigners or pinpoint the region of the world someone is coming from without hearing them speak first? My favorite past time is guessing where all these foreigners roaming around Zagreb are from. We've had a huge influx of US, Spanish and Japanese tourists in recent years. These two guys stuck out of the crowd... don't ask me why - cowboy hats? Relaxed demeanor? Too happy and not uptight to be anywhere from Europe? Something in their faces made me think they're either Ozzies or Kiwis. What do you think? What part of the world would you put them in? :)

Definitely Aussies. You can spot them a mile off.
ReplyDeletemmm ... I might have to agree re the dark blue lad ... but his mate isnt sitting easily underneath that hat. The camouflage hat is not a cowboy hat but a Greg-Chappel-hat. Google it ...
ReplyDeleteWell, I kinda think they're Taiwanese?! But what do I know?
ReplyDeleteIt's all about non-verbal communication :P

ReplyDelete@ Julie - the things I learn on the internet! Thanks for the tip, I would never would have known. I googled Greg Chappell hat and it says it's Australian. I caught the guy just after a very wide smile (that photo was blurry)... too bad, but... they certainly got my smile out (I have a soft spot for men with Ozzie or Irish accents) ;).
... tsk ... tsk ... tsk ... Aussie lads are known to take advantage of lassies who find their accent appealing!
ReplyDelete@ Julie - :-D I'll try to play hard to get when I go down under for a visit... ;-)
