In the center of the city, there's an oasis with local and world flora - the Botanical garden, dating from 19th century. It was established as a part of the University (Natural sciences) but has become Zagreb's hidden park, a wonderful place to take a walk in these hot summer days.

oh, I love the photo of the trees! And I had no clue Zagreb had such a place, very beautiful and peaceful.
ReplyDelete@ Jaca - that's just one of many such places in Zagreb :)... if you look closely, you can see tiny 'bumps' underneath the trees - they're specific types of roots the trees have... very funky looking, but the moment you see them, you'll be reminded of the marshes in the US (the ones you can see on movies or Discovery channel)
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful places and your photography is very good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting and commenting on My Birds Blog.

It's indeed a good place to take a walk or sit on the benches in hot days. I love the landscape of it.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots! I really enjoy botanical gardens.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Mirela, all our beaches are sandy, you just need swimming shoes if you are like me and enjoy exploring the rocky areas (the National Geographic hour, as I use to say)! :-)
@JM - guilty :)... I'll get the shoes ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful water lily photos! Claude Monet would indeed be proud! Bravo!
