Stroll around the Botanical garden

In the center of the city, there's an oasis with local and world flora - the Botanical garden, dating from 19th century. It was established as a part of the University (Natural sciences) but has become Zagreb's hidden park, a wonderful place to take a walk in these hot summer days.

  2. @ Jaca - that's just one of many such places in Zagreb :)... if you look closely, you can see tiny 'bumps' underneath the trees - they're specific types of roots the trees have... very funky looking, but the moment you see them, you'll be reminded of the marshes in the US (the ones you can see on movies or Discovery channel)

  7. Lovely shots! I really enjoy botanical gardens.

By the way, Mirela, all our beaches are sandy, you just need swimming shoes if you are like me and enjoy exploring the rocky areas (the National Geographic hour, as I use to say)! :-)
